Church Christmas Tree

Here's an kinda old post that I meant to post several weeks ago. We were at church the day after Thanksgiving to play games (basketball and ping pong) so set up and decorated the Christmas tree while everyone could help us. I had fun taking pics. Heather and Bonnie

More Candle Making

Nate and Ollyce came over last night for supper. After supper Ollyce made some candles. :) So here are more pictures.

These should be at the end (sorry) but better out of order then not at all. These three are the candles that Ollyce made. The first is Hollyberry.

This white one is really pretty cause we put sparkles on top.

This is the candle that Nate was trying to make stripes with. You can actually see some stripes. But instead of being white with red stripes, it is pink with red stripes.

16 drops of red die

Pouring the wax into the jar

The finished product of the first candles we made. I don't much like the brown.

Bottles of fragrance (Christmas Cheer, Cappuccino Mocha, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Sweet Snow, Cool Mocha and Hollyberry)

Heating the jars in the oven (so that they are not cold when you put the hot wax in it)

Nate wanted to try putting stripes on the sides with red die.

Soy Candles

Mom ordered I think 50 pounds of soy wax to make candles with. She also ordered all the jars, wicks, stickers, fragrance, die etc. Everything you need to make your own candles. So the evening that everything arrived we started making a a few. It was fun but we need to figure out how many drops of die to put in the wax. When we thought we were getting a deep red...we got pink (after it dried) and when we thought we were getting a fairly dark brown...we got a light brown (that is not a very pretty) color. :( But anyway here are a few pictures.Melting the wax

Waiting for the wax to dry.

We put the extra wax in votives.

The scale that we weighed the wax with.

And again, letting the wax dry.

Fall Party!!!

Last night was our fall party! We all had great time. We always dress up and this year Mrs. Dobson thought of doing fall colors (red, brown, orange and yellow). When everyone arrived there was more brown then red, orange and yellow put together. :) First we ate supper then played games.

The table decorations were very pretty

Teen girls, this one went on for a while before the whistle was blown.
No one was able to grab the pumpkin.
The little ones got to play a game too. They had to roll the pumpkin
across the gym and run back:)

When Pastor Dobson asked for volunteers Emily and John were more then willing. But that could have changed when Pastor Dobson said that we would be dressing them up as a scarecrow. This is Emily before she was dressed up.
