I'm Moving

I've decided I needed a change.  For some random computer reasons I am unable to do that without making a new blog (computers are so confusing to me sometimes!).

www.alookthroughmylens10.blogspot.com

So you can go on over there because I will not be posting any more posts on this blog.  However I will leave this blog here if you ever randomly want to look at it in the future. :)

First Snow of the Season

Now, I do understand that some people don't like snow.
But what I don't understand is why they don't like snow.
 I love it!
(However, it must be at least a half a foot
for it to be of any real fun. Three feet is best.)

Yeah, it's cold...but that's why you wear warm clothes.

It's so much fun to fall into this soft white fluff to make a snow angel.  Or to build a snowman.  Or to race down a hill on a sled.  Or to throw a snowball and laugh when you totally miss your target!  So, even if it's cold, no one cares when you're having so much fun!

Besides all that though...it's really
beautiful!

We Get Our Strength From Him

Isaiah 40:31 - But
they that wait upon
the LORD shall
renew their strength;

                          They shall mount up as wings of eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; and they
                               shall walk, and not
                                   faint.

Squirt

This is Squirt, our tiny kitten.

She's really 6 weeks old...and should be about twice the size of what she is now.

Her eyes are huge and so adorable!  She loves to play, but also loves to be held...over all she loves drinking from the kitten bottle. :)

Sammy - Her Happy and Not So Happy Days

Do you remember when I wrote how Sammy is usually quite grouchy but sometimes she has her good moments?
 ~~~
This is Sammy...when she's happy
Earlier this spring/summer when I'd walk up the driveway to get the mail she would follow me.  Once I got the mail out of the mail box and turn around to go back she would come up to me.  She knew I would pick her up so she would kind of jump into my arms and pull herself onto my shoulders.  Then I'd walk down the driveway with her on my shoulders.
We did this nearly everyday.
Then she would get pregnant and grouchy yet again.  You really didn't want to be around her when close to the time when she would have the kittens.  She had her babies (6) in the end of August.  For some unknown reason she would not feed them, and she had them in all sorts of places (2 in a closet, 3 in a basket that we provided and 1 under the porch during the night).  She totally rejected them, hissing whenever she got near them.  These kittens would have died if it hadn't been for Molly.  She had just had 3 kittens a week earlier so we gave Sammy's kittens to her and she took care of them.  However Molly had an armful of kittens to care for now (6 + 3 = 9), and not all that much milk.  So we bought some kitten formula and the most adorable kitten bottle...
 ...and fed them ourselves.
They loved it!
Because we  bottle fed them for a majority of their meals they are especially gentle and love to be held.
Also, because they were malnourished this little one especially is quite small.  Actually even though this one is a month old it is not much bigger now than in the picture.
Cat Moments
Flowers In Fall
I love these Daliahs, they are so pretty and their orange color is so perfect for this time of year. We have them in a bright/deep blue vase and they look so pretty!  I couldn't help but take some pictures of them.
Which do you like better?  The first of second or third?
The other day I went walking out to the field to see if the trees on the edges had a lot of color, but they did not.  So I wandered into the woods and couldn't help but notice all the leaves covering the ground.
Yes, it is a rather boring pictures, but I love leaves that cover the ground.
And this tree...well, I never really knew it had such a beautiful color of leaves until yesterday when I just happened to look up.  It's nearly perfect, don't you think?
Football!!!!!!
Who loves football?
Me?  Well...I enjoy watching a game.  I love the action, the excitement, and trying to figure out what's going on.  But that's the problem.  I really don't know too much of what's going on.  Somehow I still enjoy watching it, and we just happen to know someone who plays.
Not only that, but Mom got a new lens.  It's huge and heavy...and pretty nice.  So I got to take plenty of pictures this past week when we went to watch the game.
Actually, I'm posting this for you Em,
for anyone else who knows Paul and
to show off what this new lens can do.
Oh...I must admit, though, I did quite a bit of cropping on a few of these pictures, so what you see isn't quite how far the lens will go.
Anyway...
:: Here they are ::
Paul is #85 so you can figure out which one of those red guys is he.
To make your search a little easier...I'll give you a hint.
*He's not in these first two pictures.* :)
In case you can't see the number he's the farthest to the right.
Getting tackled - that's just doesn't sound like fun to me.
Oh well.
(He's the one with the ball)
Each game I go to I seem to understand a little bit more.
I really do think I love it!
Do you?
Apples
I usually only post those pictures that I take, but this time these are pictures that Mom took.  A couple weeks ago we went to Stovers to pick apples - well Dad and I picked, while Mom took pictures. :)
Mmmm - don't they look so delicious?
Indianapolis
Here are the pictures I promised!  As it happens, I was able to get them on here a lot faster then I thought...a lot. :)
I loved looking at the buildings, so of course I had to share them with you.
This is a church that was pretty, you can't actually it well,  but don't you love the blue sky?  That has got to be the prettiest color out there!
On Friday they gave us lunch in a box.  Heather and Mom went outside to eat theirs.  Notice the bag that everyone was given also.
It's seems "everyone" else thought it a good idea to eat outside (probably because the inside was packed full)
Ladies lining the building
Here's another church. You can actually see it, however the sky is not very pretty.
Heather liked the door :)
And I can see why
Just some random and interesting buildings
I love the pillars!!!
You never know what you'll find in a big city like this.
Update
This past weekend we (Mom, Heather and I) had the privilege of going to Indianapolis for the True Woman Conference.  We were able to stay at some very good friends of ours and were there from Thursday evening to Saturday afternoon.
Originally I was not going to go.  I really didn't like the idea of being around thousands of people...I'm not a big crowd kind of person.  But then I was given the opportunity to go free!  :)  I had to rethink my decision then, and after some encouragement from Mom and Heather I decided I'd go.
There ended up being 6,000 plus ladies (and teens) at the conference!!!  On Friday they had a 'teen track' where us teens could have our own session...there were 400 of us.  It was a bit overwhelming at times, but we managed.
On Friday morning Dannah Gresh (she co-authored with Nancy Leigh DeMoss on Lies Young Woman Believe) spoke to us teens on giving our desires up for the LORDI think nearly every girl in that room was convicted and had a desire in their heart that they knew they had to give up...including me.  It has changed my whole way of thinking pretty much now, and I am ever so grateful to my God!
So despite the thousands and thousands of people practically everywhere, I believe it was totally worth it!
I'll be posting pictures of the city (it had such unique/pretty buildings!) as soon as I can.  But for now, I'll leave you with this one I took on Friday on the way to the conference building.
Upper Peninsula Part 2 - Tahquamenon Falls
One of the last things we did was go see the Tahquamenon Falls.  They were I think the biggest falls I've seen.
My first view of the lower falls.
A little closer
We rowed out to this island so we could see the falls closer up.
This is the close up of the falls in the first picture.
Mom took the tripod to get some shot with the slow shutter speed.  She was able to get much better shots than I was. However I am only posting mine.  I might post some of hers later.
First view of the higher falls.
Closer up
Please note that they look much smaller than they really are!
