We Get Our Strength From Him

Isaiah 40:31 - But
they that wait upon
the LORD shall
renew their strength;

They shall mount up as wings of eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; and they
                               shall walk, and not
                                   faint.

Flowers In Fall

I love these Daliahs, they are so pretty and their orange color is so perfect for this time of year. We have them in a bright/deep blue vase and they look so pretty!  I couldn't help but take some pictures of them.
Which do you like better?  The first of second or third?

The other day I went walking out to the field to see if the trees on the edges had a lot of color, but they did not.  So I wandered into the woods and couldn't help but notice all the leaves covering the ground.
Yes, it is a rather boring pictures, but I love leaves that cover the ground.

And this tree...well, I never really knew it had such a beautiful color of leaves until yesterday when I just happened to look up.  It's nearly perfect, don't you think?

Purple

I took this picture with the same time I took the one in the post below. It's not the best quality, but I really liked it anyway.

I love these flowers...and I love daisy's and these are very similar.

Psalm 112:1

"Praise ye the LORD, Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments."

While having devotions this week I read this verse. I stopped after "Praise ye the Lord" and thought, How often do I praise the Lord? I knew it wasn't nearly as much as He deserved. I was convicted of asking again and again for all the things I want ("need") and not spending much time at all to praise my God and King!

I just wanted to share that with you, and encourage you to also wholeheartedly praise your Heavenly Father!

I've A Question

How often do you take God's creation for granted?

For me, I know I do not appreciate the beautiful colors, designs and sounds of creation nearly as much as I ought to. Sometimes, I think/treat it as a brick wall--nothing exciting, nor beautiful.
But, as I sit here today, I can hear the rain falling down the leaves and roof tops. It is so peaceful, so beautiful!

I realize how many times I take this wonderful pleasure for granted. How I seem to think everywhere, everyone is able to hear the soft pitter-patter of the rain hitting the ground, and that it is nothing all that wonderful.

This time, I'm thanking God, from the bottom of my heart, for his generous gift of flowers, of trees, of rain.

God is so good!

One Sign

Several days ago I sat down on our back deck and looked around the yard. I couldn't help the sigh that escaped from within...the dogwood's berries had come and its leaves were starting to turn red. A sure sign that fall is right around the corner.

And I had to share these beautiful flowers that made me smile.

Friends Visit

The Bennetts came to visit us on Thursday!
Heather, me
Sarah and Aaron

We played Apples to Apples and another game shown below.

They bought some beautiful Gladiolas!!

I love purple and yellow together, just like I do blue and yellow. :)

Now here is the other game we played, a game that we are not sure of the name. But it was a lot of fun and brought a lot of laughter!
What you had to do was a write a sentence on a piece of paper (like the one above) and then pass to the person beside you.

That person would read the sentence and then draw it.

The third person is only able to see the drawing, and then must write what he sees.

It kind of goes on like that, so that the fourth person sees only the sentence and draws that.

Many times you will end with something totally off from the first sentence. :) I would highly recommend playing this game...especially with a lot of people (the more people the funnier they are at the end). We played with 5 people this time.

Fireworks and Flowers

We actually ended up going to see some fireworks the same night I said that we were (probably) not...I was kind of surprised that we went. But, we didn't stop there, Heather and I ended up going to see some more on the 4th at the beach (which, in my opinion is so much fun!!). I got to take some fairly good pictures of the fireworks on the first night. Here's a couple of the better shots.

And I can't help but share some (kinda) recent pictures of my favorite subject...flowers!!! These were taken earlier this summer.
(Don't you love blue and yellow together??)

Trillium Season Is Here...

...and every year at this time we take a trip down the railroad bed to see the hundreds of beautiful trilliums. :) And of course this year was no exception, so Mom, Dad and I (Heather was not home) took walk last evening.

(yes, very aware that there is suppose to be a "the" in front of "glory"...oops!)

These are two old pieces of wood that were once apart of the railroad track.

Daffodils

We bought these for Easter on the side of the road on our way home from co-op. I couldn't help taking pictures of them. They are beautiful!

"For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land."
-Song of Solomon 2:11-12

I don't know about you, but I was a little confused when I read "the voice of the turtle". So I looked it up and it really means "turtledove".

I Thought I Needed To Post Something So...

...here's a couple pictures. Mom took these two during one of the many times we went to Fernwood this spring/summer. I think this one is really cool (the creamy and kinda dreamy effect). Mom is not sure why it is this color. But I like it.:)This one is kinda cool too cause of the blue in the back (actually the blue is my sweater).
Well that's all for now. Hopefully I'll have something to post soon! :)
